Curling... Why do we care?

Curling has apparently sparked the interest of peoples all over... Or at least I hope it has.

Where I live, we are very limited in the Olympic Winter Games coverage from Vancouver. But there is one sport that gets plenty of coverage DAILY... And that sport happens to be Curling.
Curling seems to be the one sport we all make fun of, but if given the opportunity would watch and watch and watch. If it is on tv, I for one can not change the channel. Its like I am in a hypnotic trance!
I think it is because the 'athletes' who play (can you actually play curling?) seem so average. Like your next door neighbor could be an Olympic Athlete!
Because they SEEM (I realize it takes a remarkable amount of skill and practice to be good at ANY sport) so average maybe we all couch athletes think that we too could be an Olympic Athlete in Curling.
Maybe this is why we like Curling SOOOO Much!

Blogging & Bloggers

The whole idea of blogging is brilliant... The ability for the most average people to express their thoughts & ideas is amazing. I think it is helpful for people to express their opinions, instead of bottling up all those emotions.

The problem though... Is most people Blogging... are just trying to get a following... and will say anything just because it is popular... What happened to their opinion? Kind of defeats the purpose of the whole thing, don't it?

Not to sound hypocritical or anything... cause lets face it... if I had thousands of followers... of course I would be happy as a beetle in elephant poop! But, that doesn't mean I'm gonna start saying things I don't believe.

I don't EXPECT to have readers... I only write cause I am living in a place where you can't express yourself, and why not... could make for a fun hobby.

PC + Athletes = Olympics Competitiveness?

I just finished reading a blog by a gentleman of the name Martin Rogers who is one of the many peoples commenting on the Olympics in Vancouver. Anyway, this guy was bashing Apolo Anton Ohno for having "words" after being disqualified from the 500 meter Speed Skating event.
“You know, it is the head Canadian referee out there, And there were two Canadians in the race.”
I don't know about you, but is what Apolo said really that bad? The guy just lost out on another medal. I would be pissed and probably would have been a little less limited in my opinions of the ref.
Apolo is what? The most successful United States Winter Olympian? With that much competitive spirit, do you expect him to just go... "Oh Well! There goes That!"
Seriously... Let athletes be athletes and leave the politically correctness to the Politicians!

London2012

I was just thinking... How great it would be to treat your family to something like the olympics. Granted at this time I don't have a family, it still would be good to start a tradition of going. So, I'm gonna start planning on going and hopefully by then I may just have a partner to share the experience with:)

Full of Water

This is a pic from a Hotel across from the Burj Dubai. Full of water, just waiting for the fountains to be up and running. Though, I have absolutely no connection with that at all.

Burj Dubai Lake

The Burj Dubai Lake full of water. The big things protruding out of the water are projectors, and the small things are lights that have been elevated so they can be worked on.

Burj Dubai Lake

So the finally Started to fill the lake. This picture is when the water is about 2 feet. When full, the lake should be at about 4 feet.
