Full of Water

This is a pic from a Hotel across from the Burj Dubai. Full of water, just waiting for the fountains to be up and running. Though, I have absolutely no connection with that at all.

Burj Dubai Lake

The Burj Dubai Lake full of water. The big things protruding out of the water are projectors, and the small things are lights that have been elevated so they can be worked on.

Burj Dubai Lake

So the finally Started to fill the lake. This picture is when the water is about 2 feet. When full, the lake should be at about 4 feet.

Most Beautiful Starbucks

Would you believe this Starbucks is in the middle of a mall? Though the actual Starbucks is not impressive by any means, but the surroundings... you can't debate the splendor of the environment. This particular Starbucks is at the Ibn Battuta Mall

Me on Burj Dubai Lake

So Basically I'm on the lake everyday in front of the tower.

Burj Dubai

Burj Dubai = Arabic for "Dubai Tower"

Its a fairly impressive building, but when your next to it every day it starts to be no big deal.

Waterfall in Dubai Mall

In the Dubai Mall you have several cool things to look at. For example, in one corner of the mall you have these huge waterfalls with these diver looking statues. It looks really cool, and the funniest part about it is that every time you walk by, there are tons of people taking pictures of it.

Why is that funny? Cause I did the same thing. I'm such a sheep!

Dubai

Well its been 25 days now that I've been in Dubai. Not sure the best way to go about posting pictures but I'm guessing I'll figure it out along the way.

Heres to getting up to speed.

The company I've been talking to about coming out to Dubai called me on December 29th that they wanted me to come out for 2 months. They got the contract to supply product for the Burj Dubai Lake. At the time I was in Alabama visiting a friend. So I hopped on a plane on the 30th back to Dallas. The 31st was dedicated to getting ready for Dubai, eye exam, doctor check up, etc. On New Years day I was on a 15 hour flight to Dubai.

When I arrived I was met at the gate by a lovely woman who walked me through customs to the baggage claim and delivered me to my driver. from there I met up with the other "western guys" of the company at a coffee shop. This was about 8pm local time. I stayed the next 2 weeks with Simon in a guest room.

I was on site working the day after arriving, with no time to adjust for jet lag.

That puts me in Dubai.
